Trans-Specialist Level Psychotherapist and founding member of CTHCG
A licensed professional counselor and Licensed clinical addiction specialist for ages 15-63
CTHCG founding member Becky Stamler, MA, LPC, LCAS, NCC She/Her/Hers
I have worked with adults who have substance use disorders, with additional focus on Opioid addiction, as well as co-occurring diagnoses (e.g, anxiety and depression). I have had extensive training to assist adults and adolescents with issues and concerns related to gender identity, gender dysphoria, and genderqueer/gender non-binary identity, as well as people with issues and concerns about sexual orientation.
My approach to the treatment experience is to provide a safe, non-judgmental environment with integrated emphasis of treatment to meet each individual’s needs. I am here to support your process for change with use of cognitive behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, mindfulness, existential concepts, and/or other non-traditional concepts that work for the individual.
I belong to the Charlotte Transgender Healthcare Group (for consulting best practices); and a member of PFLAG, Concord-Kannapolis. Professional presentations include multicultural education sessions at the American Counseling Association National Meeting, Cabarrus Health Alliance, Cardinal Innovations, & the Trans-Faith in Color Conference.
